In the spirit of the recent “cash for clunkers” effort, Sony is pleased to announce the SRW5500 or SRW5800/1
end user trade-in rebate program that will allow end users to dispose of their qualified analog and digital
video tape players/recorders (VTR’s) while upgrading to the latest HDCAM-SR VTR technology.
End users who purchase an SRW5500 or SRW5800/1 between the dates of September 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010 can trade-in a qualified VTR for a mail-in cash rebate. End users who purchase a SRW-5500 can
trade-in a qualified VTR for a $15,000 rebate, and end users who purchase a SRW-5800/1 can trade-in a
qualified VTR for a $10,000 rebate. The list of qualified trade-in VTR’s are listed below.
