To expand applications for P2HD, Panasonic is proud to announce the new AJ-HRW10 P2 Rapid Writer.
With slots for two 3.5-inch removable hard disk drives (HDDs) and a built-in AJ-PCD35 five-slot P2 drive, this portable workflow tool automatically copies content from up to 5 P2 cards to RAID-1 mirrored or JBOD configured disk drives, putting this critical back-up function well within the grasp of even the least technical members of a production team.

The Rapid Writer features a 5-inch LCD screen with simple touchscreen operation and provides a simple-to-use clip preview(Play/Pause/FWD/REW) and a P2 thumbnail display, including playback from disk drives, providing assurance that the content was copied.
The Rapid Writer supports all P2 frame rates, formats and codecs (AVC-Intra 100/50, DVCPRO HD/50/25/DV). Other valuable features include a G-bit Ethernet port to move content across an IT network, and an internal speaker and headphone jack for audio playback.
The Rapid Writer requires 12V DC power. Field operation is also available with standard Anton Bauer or IDX batteries (listed in Configuration Guide). Removable hard disk drives, disk cradle and enclosures, and power supply or battery are all sold separately. Please note, Panasonic will also provide one complete package with these items.

Disk Drives
The AJ-HRW10 Rapid Writer provides two 5 ¼” bays for maximum configuration flexibility, enabling customer choice of desired SATA connected internal HDD’s.
1. Disk drives should at minimum meet or exceed the Internal SATA 1.5Gb/Sec
2. For better performance, Panasonic recommends utilizing SATA 3.0 Gb/Sec capable Enterprise Class HDD’s with a RAM Cache buffer size of 16-32MB and a minimum 7200 RPM. Panasonic has tested these currently manufactured High-Reliability Enterprise class disk drives:
1. Seagate series at 1TB capacity (ES.2 ST31000340NS)
2. Western Digital’s E-class 1TB RE3WD1002FBYS

Enclosures / Cradles (bay)
A disk enclosure is the unit that actually fits first inside of the Rapid Writer disk drive slots. Within this unit, the disk
cradle is placed, which actually holds the bare disk drive.
Enclosures / Cradles can be purchased from multiple IT vendors.Addonics® Diamond™ Combo Hard Drive (DCHDSAEU) Enclosure and Bay systemprovides both the enclosure and cradle or bay, so, all you need to do is put the bare disk drive in it. This is also the unit that is provided with the HRW10-PAC1 package.
The Addonics DCHDSAEU is very flexible. Not only is it ready to accept a bare disk drive and be interested into the
Rapid Writer, but, it also includes an AC power supply and E-SATA connector (as well as an E-SATA to USB adapter)
to power it and connect and on a PC or MAC. This way, a production customer is able to use the Rapid Writer in the
field with disk drives. Then, the disk drives in the Addonics DCHDSAEU can be brought to a post facility and
connected to standard computer equipment.

3rd party disk drives, enclosures and cradles come with the warranty provided by the manufacturer. All warranty issues, including exchange or repair, must be handled directly with the 3rd party manufacturer, per the warranty cards that will ship with the Rapid writer.
