Sony is pleased to announce the introduction of the HXR-MC1/ACC, a two-piece, full 1920x1080/60i HD
acquisition system, complete with the most common accessories. The HXR-MC1 is composed of an
amazingly small camera head and separate control-unit/recorder interconnected with a nine foot cable.
Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar 10x lens
Exmor CMOS sensor with ClearVid pixel layout
Full 1920x1080 MPEG-4 MPEG-4 AVCHD recording
Includes everything needed for shooting, monitoring, controlling and playback
Amazingly small, approx. 1lbs 1oz
Up to 355 minutes of HD recording to 16GB Memory Stick Duo
Up to 6hr. continuos recording with battery power
As opposed to existing two-piece High Definition POV cameras; the HXR-MC1 includes everything
needed for shooting, monitoring, recording, controlling and playback. The camera head houses a 10x
Carl Zeiss™ Vario Tessar™ zoom lens, ClearVid™ Exmor™ CMOS imager and stereo microphone in a
splash-proof* enclosure of 1.5 x 1.7 x 3.5 inches. The control unit has a 2.7-inch 16:9 touch-screen LCD
for monitoring and menu/system configuration. Its dedicated Still image capture, REC button, zoom
lever, and exposure control dial enable the camera operator to manually control the camera remotely
while watching the images on its built in LCD. External monitor or remote control devices are not required.
Moreover, the unique style of the HXR-MC1 enables shooting in unordinary conditions and angles
not possible with conventional camera designs.
The HXR-MC1 can capture 4 megapixel still images as well as SD & HD video onto highly reliable Memory
Stick Pro Duo® media. For HD recording MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (AVCHD) compression is utilized. For SD
recording MPEG 2-PS compression, used in DVD Discs, is utilized. Thanks to its low power consumption,
maximum continuous stationary shooting of up to 6 hours with NP-H100 battery is possible.
The HXR-MC1 outputs images via the HDMI™, or AV/R connector (composite or component cables) during
recording or playback, so it can be used as a live video source for external monitoring or recording
equipment. The USB port permits transferring recorded still images or MPEG-4 file data to a computer.
* IEC60529 IPx2 compliant.
