Sony is pleased to introduce the SRW-5800 HDCAM-SR™ studio recorder. Even though its low price compares to
the SRW-5000 and the SRW-5500, the SRW-5800 is equipped with the same key features as these models. Also it
provides double-speed recording capability at a high data rate of 880Mbps as a new feature to SRW-5000 series.
Legacy playback of HDCAM™ and Digital BETACAM tapes is also supported with HKSR-5802 option. HSR-5001 is a
common option for all SRW-5000 series and it provides versatile format conversion i.e. 2-3 pulldown, 1080/720
conversion and 4:4:4/4:2:2 color space conversion. RGB4:4:4 recording is available in RGB4:4:4 SQ mode with
HKSR-5803SQ option. In addition to this, it provides outstanding capability of 1080 50P/60P recording, RGB4:4:4
HQ mode and x2 speed transfer through the use of 880Mbps data rate with HKSR-5803HQ option.

- Playback Digital BETACAM tapes with up-conversion (w/HKSR-5802) , Noise-less playback with DT -1.0 to +3.0
- 880 Mbps double speed recording enables 4:4:4 HQ, 4:2:2 1080 50P/60P and x2 speed transfer to server
(w/HKSR-5803HQ)

Introduction Plan:
Sony will introduce the SRW-5800 in three steps, i.e. Version 1 (V1) in January 2008, Version 2 (V2) is planned to be
available in July 2008 and Version 3 (V3) is planned to be available in September as shown below. The V1 software
does not support 880Mbps features. It is planned to be upgraded to 880Mbps capable unit through the V2 software
update. File Transfer with HKSR-5804 is planned to be supported by V3.
